Damage done

I opened a storage box to get something out to work on. I forgot I left the lid opened. My dog went to attack my unfinished ballgown which was inside the box. Damage is done. There are holes... I think I need to replace the back panel only if I have enough fabric. Otherwise I need to mend the fabric. Bad dog!

Scottish Thistle Buttons

When Betty (a piper) retired, she kept the buttons of her uniform. She gave the buttons to Marion to keep and asked her to give them to someone who can use them.

One day, I met Marion at the Bridge Club. Her husband plays the bagpipes and I was making the kilt... conversation started... I told Marion I will be making the Vest and Prince Charlie jacket. Marion said you should have Betty's buttons. I got to meet Betty one day at Bridge Novice competition.

Knotting

I found lots of paintings and pics of ladies doing knotting in the 18th century. It inspired me to do some knotting. As a tatter, I already have the equipments. Here I use a big shuttle ( 3 in x 7/8 in) and 8ply crochet cotton thread. I also have a little thread bag to use.
Start to do single knotCollapse )
I get addicted to it.
